PRO 12: Cotabato City BOL Poll Generally Peaceful

PRO 12 General Santos City- PCSUPT ELISEO TAM RASCO, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12 said Bangsamoro Organic Law Plebiscite (BOL) was generally peaceful and successful despite some untoward incidents during casting of votes in certain precincts.

“The recent historic plebiscite was generally peaceful because we had prepared everything such as deployment of our troops, and in ensuring security in the polling centers and safeguarding the voters during the plebiscite.” He said.

“Also, our reserved police officers replaced the teachers who backed out during the plebiscite day and as a result the voting was successfully carried out.” He further said.

He emphasized the importance of National Election Monitoring Action Center or NEMAC which had been created purposely to record and respond to all reports pertaining to election related-violence and violations.

PRO 12 is now ready for the same Plebiscite that will be conducted on February 6 in North Cotabato and PNP personnel will be deployed again to secure it.

Police Director Mao Ranada Aplasca, Deputy Chief PNP for Operation said that in all of the Plebiscite that was and will be conducted in Region 12, the PNP has crafted contingency plan to preempt any untoward events or threats from disrupting the conduct of the plebiscite.

“we will do everything and we will utilize a lot of our personnel just to secure the February 6 plebiscite.” He said.

PCSupt Rasco appeal to the people particularly in north Cotabato to always be vigilant, report crimes happen in the community especially suspicious looking persons and unattended baggage in order to keep people away from harm.
